Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Sometimes, effective addiction treatment calls for some independence. A partial hospitalization program offers intensive care during the day while allowing you to return home at night. With this flexibility, you or your loved one can maintain daily responsibilities and receive the necessary support.

Different Levels of Care: PHP vs. IOP

PHP and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) provide different intensities and time commitments. PHP offers more structured care with full treatment days, usually 30 hours a week. IOP often serves as a step down from PHP, requiring around 15 hours weekly. This helps you ease back into daily life while getting strong recovery support.

What Is PHP Therapy for Addiction?

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a middle ground between inpatient and outpatient treatment. It’s a comprehensive approach that involves various therapies and treatments. One notable aspect is that you return home or to a sober living house each evening. PHP allows you to balance recovery with other responsibilities, like family or work.

During your time at a PHP drug rehab, there are the same high-quality therapy methods as in inpatient care. Therapeutic techniques focus on preparing you to apply coping skills in your everyday life sustainably.

Common Questions About Partial Hospitalization Programs

What is a partial hospitalization program?

A PHP is a structured treatment program that provides intensive care during the daytime, without overnight stays. It offers comprehensive addiction treatment while providing some flexibility in your daily life.

You’ll attend treatment at our facility during the day. This includes participating in various therapy sessions, medical check-ups, and recovery activities. In the evenings, you’ll return home or to a sober living facility, where you can practice your recovery skills in a real-world setting.

While we design our program for 30 days, it’s customizable based on your needs and progress. After PHP, many clients transition to our IOP. This ensures ongoing support and connection with their recovery community.

Our PHP program runs for about 30 hours of weekly treatment, from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM. This schedule provides intensive support and routine. With flexible addiction recovery guidance, you have time for personal responsibilities and rest.

No, PHP isn’t considered inpatient care. While you receive the same intensive level of treatment during the day, you don’t stay overnight at a facility. This arrangement offers more flexibility while maintaining strong clinical support.

After completing PHP, we offer several continuing care options. This includes our IOP program and aftercare support groups. We tailor an aftercare plan that provides community resources, support groups, and ongoing therapy. This continuous care helps support your long-term recovery success.
